Silk Fabric Buying FAQs

What is natural silk?

Natural silk is a protein-based fibre produced by silkworms. It is different from viscose, polyester and other manufactured fibres that may use “silk” as part of a trade name.

Is viscose the same as pure silk?

No. Viscose is a regenerated cellulose fibre, while natural silk is a protein fibre. Check the fibre information on the individual product page and contact us when composition confirmation is important.

How can I check the current fabric price?

Use the price shown on the current product page. For wholesale quantities, availability or price confirmation, contact our team before ordering because prices can change.

Where can I buy raw silk fabric in Pakistan?

Browse our raw silk products online. A current option is Pure Raw Silk 80 GSM.

Do you sell fabric at retail and wholesale?

Saad Salman is based in Karachi, Pakistan. See our About Us page for business information.

Can colours look different on screen?

Yes. Screen settings and lighting can affect colour appearance. If an exact shade is important, contact us before ordering.

How do I choose the right silk fabric?

Compare the stated fabric type, GSM, width, texture, transparency and intended use. If a required specification is not listed, ask us to confirm it before purchase.

What does GSM mean in fabric?

GSM means grams per square metre and describes fabric weight. A higher GSM generally means a heavier fabric, but drape and transparency also depend on weave and finish.

Is 60 GSM or 80 GSM better?

Neither is universally better. The suitable weight depends on the garment, desired drape, transparency and structure. Compare the verified specifications of the relevant products before ordering.

Can silk be used for embroidery?

Some silk and silk-look fabrics can support embroidery, but suitability depends on fabric weight, weave, design density and backing. Test a sample or ask for guidance before bulk production.

How should delicate fabric be cared for?

Care depends on fibre, weave, dye and finish. Follow the instructions supplied with the product. When unsure, use a professional cleaner experienced with delicate fabrics.

Can I order fabric online?

Yes. Browse the online shop and follow the checkout steps. Contact us first for large or specification-sensitive orders.

How much fabric should I order?

The required quantity depends on garment design, size, width, pattern matching and cutting layout. Ask your tailor or designer before ordering.
